Art Deco rooftop garden project The Shanghai Grand Theatre was built in 1928 as the first movie theater in the East side of the world. With its art deco style, it is a valued historical and cultural asset. In preparation for the Shanghai World Expo 2010, the theatre building was renovated under government direction, including a rooftop garden and restaurants on the top level. The restaurant is named "ARK" (operated by the Maverick DC Group). 1moku was contracted to design an art deco rooftop garden. Complying with the rigorous landscape ordinances and taking them to our advantage, we incorporated the Shanghai cityscape into visual aspects of the design.

アールデコの屋上庭園 「上海グランドシアター」は、1928年に建てられた東洋初の映画館で、アールデコ様式の歴史文化遺産。 上海万博にむけて政府主導で建物全体をリノベーションする事となり最上階に飲食施設と屋上庭園を作る事になった。 飲食施設名は「ARK」（MAVERICK DC GROUP） アールデコの屋上庭園設計を1moku co.で担当した。 景観条例等の厳しい制約を逆に利用しながら、上海の街並を借景としておおいに取り込んだ。
