Project for renovation of building and garden after 34 years One of the challenges of this project was that a third of the garden was taken up by a driveway. Our first proposal was to eliminate the driveway and partition off a build-in garage so that a natural garden cab be created. The plan was initially accepted, then rejected because the car could not leave the garage. We modified the proposal to incorporate a granite-paved, gently curving drive into the lawn, giving the impression that the garage was isolated from the road.

築34年の建物と庭のリノベーション 庭の1/3をしめる車道を庭として成り立たせたいと考え、一度アンティークカーをビルドインガレージに入れ、門で仕切り、車道をなくし、「風景としてのガレージ」を提案。一度は受け入れられたものの「車出れないんですか？」という点から却下。 そこで、芝生面をアールの白ミカゲの石積みでゆるやかに車道に張り出させ、ガレージに道がつながっていないような感覚とした。
