Moon Garden—From ripples of water to ripples of sand The ripples made by each drop of water falling into a bowl spread out to become large ripples in the Shirakawa sand around the bowl, and then eventually join the flow of clear water from the Higashiyama mountains seen through the glass. The color added by the maple leaves in the corner also seems to entice your gaze towards the Higashiyama mountains in the distance. The full moon and crescent moon depicted by the ripples in the water and ripples in the sand combine with thoughts of the moon-rabbit in the Mimiu logo, providing the delightful experience of moon-watching, even if only in the mind.
